Investment Objective

The strategy provides long/short exposure to the broad Technology and related sectors with a primary focus on SMID cap stocks. The team seeks to identify asymmetric risk reward opportunities that will generate high IRR on individual positions. Often these are regarded as value/GARP situations within (established) growth-industry sectors.

Shannon River is a mid-cap focused TMT strategy that launched in UCITS in October 2019. We had a useful update with Jay Sullivan, on the fund's recent performance and positioning. The fund has had  a very strong start to 2020, up 8.4% YTD at the time of writing (Feb 14th) with several of the fund's core long names delivering strong performance, particularly New York Times which they expect to continue to benefit from the strong news cycle going into the US Presidential election.
